The model number decides everything because a high-end refrigerator isn’t one design — it’s dozens of series built over thirty years, each with its own boards, sensors, dampers and sealed-system layout. The model number on the rating plate is what tells us which logic your unit uses, which parts fit, and whether a fault falls under warranty. Where is the Sub-Zero model number located?
On most Sub-Zero refrigerators the rating plate is inside the door or cabinet near the top hinge — the exact spot depends on the series:

How do I read a Sub-Zero model number?
Sub-Zero model designations read as letters for the family followed by digits for the size — BI-36, 648PRO, ID-30R or UC-24, for example. Don’t guess from the door panel or a remembered spec sheet; custom panels hide the real model, and a single transposed character orders the wrong part.
